Automatic Battery Load-Test Machine Pat. Pend.
Various regulatory agencies, JCAHO, NFPA, OSHA, require batteries powering life-safety systems to be "load-tested" periodically. This test procedure is very dangerous as batteries produce hydrogen gases, and an arc from disconnecting and re-connecting could cause an explosion. Our automated test-equipment, through engineering methods, removes the hazards from the employees.
Safe Testing of Batteries
The unit shown here is built to test a total of (8) batteries that are connected in a redundant series-parallel system, operating at 24VDC. Our load-test machine is permanently connected to the batteries, eliminating the need for employees to make or break connections. Our testers can be configured for (1) battery or for any number of batteries and configurations, and incorporate PLC-Leader Allen Bradley Micro800 to perform the battery switching and testing.
Expandable & Upgrades Available
The basic Tester is initiated by the operator; a programmable voltmeter and an ammeter display the results of the test along with either a green-PASS light or a red-FAIL light. Operator can record readings as the tester cycles through the testing of each individual battery. Upgrades are available for self-recorded readings uploaded to a server, remote start of the tester, and much more.
